Softball Preview

It’s that time of year when spring is on its way, and softball season is starting. This year the team has 19 girls, eight of them seniors. The team is larger than years before and with a mix of new and returning students there will be different talents shown on the field.

Practice started March 10 after school. KP is the coach this year expecting a lot from the team. Along with conditioning, batting and pitching, practicing helps determine who performs well in a certain position on the field, and it will help determine each team member’s playing time for a game. Rachel Shrock (‘14) commented, “It will be interesting to see where everyone’s strengths play out.”

The first game of the season is April 3rd but Hanna Hochstetler (‘14) is nervous that the team won’t get to play due to the weather. She also said, “Newcomers are adjusting well. We are a very open and fun group so it’s easy to find someone to connect with and have a good time.”

With practices every day from 3:45-6 p.m. the team will make their first game memorable. Make sure to come out and support them!
