Staff Bio – Carissa Woolace

Everyone on the Social Media Staff will be posting their first article this week sometime. Each of us will have included Four Truths and One Lie. Can you figure out which is which? Tell us if you think you know!

By the end of this school year, I will have been in Social Media/Sightline for three and a half years and I’m starting to understand what I am doing. While Social Media is fun and a relatively easy class if you make an effort, it has never been a priority class for me (Michael and Renae usually take precedence.) This year will be different. As one of two sScreen Shot 2016-08-21 at 9.54.12 PMeniors in the class, I plan on working to bring Sightline back into Bethany student life.

Now a bit about me, when I was about 4 years old I was wearing brand new shoes and tripped down the stairs resulting in a broken arm. I can remember my dad running down the hall toward me. However, I was less upset about breaking my arm than the fact that I was not able to go to swimming lessons anymore that summer.

At the end of 5th grade, my family moved from Elkhart to Goshen. I was so upset over the upcoming move that I spent my last weeks at Concord sitting by myself and crying during recess. Moving ended my Concord career, started my Fairfield career, and 13962580_1244976215554920_6367886181060372696_ntwo years later I switched schools again and began my time at Bethany.

When I was a 7th grader going to Fairfield, I finally managed to convince my dad, after much begging and pleading, to let me dye my hair a dark blue. I vividly remember the look on his face when he came home and saw it for the first time. He regretted agreeing to it so much that he now only agrees to red and black. He also always complains for a week after I dye my hair about how he misses my natural color.

After graduating, I plan to go to college and major in ElemePortrait of back - Children are raised hands in classroom. I have a huge passion for young kids and for awhile I have wanted to dedicate myself to them. I have been looking at Ohio State but after seeing and comparing prices, my chances of actually going there are quickly dwindling. I hope to teach 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade.
