Lesser-Known Fall Sports Awards

At Bethany, we have a variety of fall sports from soccer to cross country. But now fall sports have wrapped up. Awards night was at the end of October. You may have seen pictures of the MVP and Sportsmanship award recipients in the paper, but there are other awards that weren’t publicized as well. Sportsmanship and Most Valuable Player are important, but some coaches give individual awards that are pretty cool too. In Girls’ Soccer, Macinsy Sanchez got an award for Goal of the Year, which must have been pretty epic. Emma Thomas was recognized for Hustle in girls’ soccer. Leadership awards were given in boys’ soccer, volleyball, and tennis to Conrad Yoder, Jonathan Yousey, and Andrea Yousey, respectively. In tennis, Joel Yoder got Academic All-State. In Cross Country, Fiona Yeakey and Michael Damer each received the Bruin Paw award.
These awards may not have been put in the newspaper, but they deserve recognition. Below, see a full list of awards given aside from the Sportsmanship and MVP awards.
