Girl’s Volleyball 2018 Season Review

The girl’s volleyball team had an outstanding season. They won sectionals for the first time in 17 years with a record was 9-12 and made it to the regional finals. Jadyn Kauffman said, “regionals were weird because we had never been there before so we didn’t know what to expect. We went into sectionals confident because we knew we could beat the two other teams”

Most of the girls said that “about halfway through the season something clicked” and “things didn’t start out the best, but eventually things started to click.” I interviewed a couple other girls about their thoughts on the season and coaches. Mariah Miller said that “The team was good from the start and got along. Lois spends a lot of time thinking and working hard for the team. She tries to put us in the best position to win.” Emma Bontreger said, “It was awesome. It did start out frustrating but then we figured how to get out of holes and how to finish. We also worked a lot on serve and serve receive.” She also said she enjoyed this season better than last year and that coach Ali brings a lot of much-needed enthusiasm, intensity, and joy all at the same time. Overall the girls all agreed that the season went well and that they enjoyed it immensely.
