Sightline Poetry Contest- Rules and Guidelines

Do you like money? Cars? Fabulous prizes? Well, those are just the kind of things you can write about for Sightline’s first ever poetry contest! Let your imagination fly and prove your literary genius to the entire school!

Your poem will be judged anonymously by Sightline’s own literary expert. The top three poems will be posted in the Literature section of the Sightline website. Poems will be judged on use of coherence, significance of the subject, grammar, language, and use of poetic devices. All forms of poetry will be accepted.

Rules

  1. Poems should be submitted by Monday, February 10th.

  2. Poems should be at least 3 lines.

  3. Poems containing subjects, words, or phrases inappropriate for a school environment will not be judged.

  4. No more than one entry per person.

  5. Plagiarism will not be tolerated. Anyone suspected to be guilty of plagiarising will be turned in to Jim.
